Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I’m originally from Far Rockaway, Queens
I grew up in Middletown NY

Who are your biggest artistic influences?
My biggest artistic influences have been Doom, Ghostface and Roc Marci for years now.
As far as producers, Achemist, Madlib.
And of course my circle of people.

Do you have a network of other artists you rely on – and what do you do to support each other?
Yes I do, Primal Sound Garmentry or PSG.
And we support each other by getting things done. If they need a verse, beat or mix, it’s done. And vice versa. We’re at each other’s shows supporting, whatever we need to do.

How do you make sure you have time to create? Do you have a set time or build it into your calendar?
It’s not difficult, whenever I have free time that’s just what I do. Some people like video games and watching tv on their free time, I make music. If I’m trying to mix/master an album then that involves making a schedule.

What’s your biggest barrier to being an artist? How do you address it?
Never thought about that, I don’t stress this whole music thing too much. If I did I wouldn’t enjoy it.

Is there something you do today that you wished you had known to do years ago?
Everything’s a learning experience, I just take what learned with gratitude and move forward. I know I came a long way from where I started, I’m happy with that.

Where do you find inspiration?
I can be inspired by anything as corny as that sounds. My favorite artists, my PSG fam, any art form, life, family, friends, conversations, etc.

When is your favorite time of day to create?
3-4am. I used to fall asleep around this time in my late teens, now I wake up around then most times.

What motivates you to create?
I’m not really sure if I have a direct answer for that. It’s therapeutic as hell though.

What first got you into music?
Freestyling with my friends in high school. I said a few fire lines, at least to us at the time joking around. I thought to myself “I could write some ill shit If I wanted to”. Making beats started because I didn’t want to pay for beats, or use other rappers instrumentals.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Progressive Hiphop

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Alchemist or Madlib in no order. Number one would have been Doom, RIP to the GOAT.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
I guess the same artists I’d most like to collab with. But there are a lot of artists I grew up listening to that I’d be honored to open for.

What is one message you would give to your fans?
Thank you and I love y’all for the support. Whether you stream my music, purchased my physical albums, watch my videos, your support is truly appreciated.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?
A few things but one that’s been sticking with me lately is “don’t rush for anything, what’s meant for you will be there, if it’s not there then it wasn’t meant to be.”

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
There is way too much to say, I think many of us would want to change many things about the industry.

What’s next for you?
A few beat tapes, and I’m dropping my next solo rap album early this fall.
