Lahmacun presents - On the Other Side of the Darkness

A special broadcast by Radio Kapital as a solidarity act for the 1-year anniversary of the Russian invasion to Ukraine. Aired on February 24th, 2023.

What does a musician feel after a year of fighting on the frontline? How not to give in to evil and keep being able to dream? Is it possible to turn anger, frustration, and sadness into a concrete decolonisation effort? Or is doing your own thing, creating and making art – despite water and electricity shortages or forced emigration – a sufficient act of resistance? Does the future hold any hope? What can we, here in Poland, do to help?

We asked Ukrainian artists, musicians, theatre makers, and radio hosts about their last year – leaving them complete freedom as to the form and content of their message to the world.
